Chapter 181: Cuddle

The dinner was served and despite handling almost everything makeshift Maydeath was able to prepare a decent dinner.

Stew and rice, given their current situation and availability, surely was too good to expect. And not to talk about the taste which was excellent enough to surprise Seth.

"It's delicious, May." Maydeath nearly choked on her food. Both because of hearing the compliment and the nickname from Seth.

Seth noticed her surprise so he asked, "Are you not comfortable being regarded as such?"

"Yes? No, of course, I don't mind. Please call me May from now on." Maydeath tilted her head with her eyes turning crescent.

Anabelle chewed on the rice with her eyes narrowed yet she didn't say anything since the food indeed was quite appetizing. Not to talk about the happiness she carried because of the affection she received from Seth. That much was enough to keep Anabelle silent for some hours.

The weather had turned a little colder than what these three were accustomed to. Especially Maydeath, who lives in a place that remains hot and humid for the nine months of the year.

Seth had enough blankets and winter wear to lend the other two so they were pretty much warmed up even in this chilly atmosphere.

"We will be leaving early in the morning?" Anabelle asked as she finished eating her food and was about to put it away when Maydeath snatched it from her and returned the plate soon after with another serving.

Anabelle glared at the redhead but accepted the food.

...well, if she was requesting this much then Anabelle wasn't such cruel to refuse the food.

"Yeah...but first I need to arrange another carriage."

Anabelle ducked her head and didn't dare to look at Seth upon the mention of the carriage she demolished.

Seth inwardly sighed at the display, but he wasn't holding any displeasure anymore. He has to keep looking forward since his main focus is not to get held back at this point. At all.

He has a lot to prepare and arrange before the real apocalypse ascends. And after fighting that Oni, Seth knew he needed to pace up anyhow.

"But we need to reach the nearest teleportation center, right? As I remember, that cave is situated near the border region as well, so we can teleport to the nearest city and cover the distance on our feet as well." As Maydeath suggested this was the most efficient method they could adapt to reach their destination in the least time.

However, "The location of the treasure has changed." Seth's words earned a raise of brows from both ladies since they weren't expecting another change in the plot.

"How...ah." Anabelle was about to ask how Seth knew about the change of location when it struck her.

In the novel, the location of the treasure wasn't told to Arata rather he got to know about it when he touched the treasure key piece. The small orb in Seth's possession must have shown him the route to reach the treasure.

Maydeath also realized, albeit a little later.

"We have to go there on the carriage for the first few hundred kilometers before we will have to move through the wilderness. So let's rest early when we have time." As finished his food, he announced.

Tomorrow, they surely have to move a lot and the chances of facing numerous creatures arise even more so it would be better that Seth get refreshed with a good night's sleep...

...well, only if the circumstances allow him.

"I can't sleep in the middle...it's too uncomfortable."

The flowers around the two girls dimmed immediately as their expectations were crumbled within a second. Initially, they didn't think that Seth would sleep at all, however, when they got the chance they wanted to not miss it at any cost.

Seth didn't pay attention to the two before he slid himself inside the blanket and lay down on the comforter on the left side. Despite being in a tent, the comfortable makeshift bed would be enough to allow him to rest properly.

Meanwhile, he didn't know what Maydeath and Anabelle whispered to each other before he found the redhead lying beside him.

"Hey," Seth responded with a raise of his brows.

Since there wasn't much space and only one blanket over them, their arms were touching inside the blanket. And given the cold, it felt good to be in contact with her.

"You aren't uncomfortable?" Many people including Seth don't feel comfortable sleeping with others but the way she vigorously shook her head made it clear how satisfied she was with this arrangement.

"C-Can I come a little closer?" Hearing her unsure tone and the way her face was adapting the shade of her hair, made her look adorable.

Seth sighed before he allowed his lips to edge and rather than replying to her he turned himself toward her and pulled Maydeath in his arms.nove(l)bi(n.)com

"Ah..." She yelped slightly with her eyes remaining a little wide but the warmth his body provided made her heart calm down soon after.

His strong arms, manly scent, and warm embrace made Maydeath feel calm and safe. She made herself comfortable as she heard his heavy voice whispering quietly,

"Is it okay now or do you want a good night kiss as well?"

Her face flushed hearing his deep voice and the words he relayed. The mere mention of being kissed by Seth, albeit in-joke, made her body hot all over.

She was kissed by him more than once that night but at that time he was just fulfilling his side of the bargain. To gain a kiss or his love was something Maydeath had left on fate. To think he would even consider kissing her this soon...

'Not good...I need to control myself...but how can I....' With such thoughts, she snuggled in his chest, and Maydeath drifted to the most wonderful sleep of her life.

Early in the morning, Seth was the one to get up early but finding his both arms locked he frowned his brows before parting his lids and assessing his situation.

'Ah, damn...' In the end, he had to sleep in between since Maydeath and Anabelle were using his arm as a pillow and arms resting over his chest.

'Haah...why can't they refrain from competing even once?'

In the end, Seth hugged both of them and took another nap...
